Phantom Traveler

[Serenity]

Ilea stretched her legs as she stood up from the seat, making sure to grab her bag from the traveling rack above her head as she did. She got off of the bus that she'd spent the last two hours traveling on along with several other students. They'd pulled into a layby beside an old forest to stop for a rest and lunch break.

'Great,' she thought to herself. 'Some peace and quiet at last.'

She glanced at the other students as they made their way from the bus, still making as much noise as they had while on the road. She headed to the edge of the forest, and pushing a branch out of her way ducked in there. Being careful to remember the path she'd taken, she made her way deeper in the forest, until she came to a small clearing. She sat herself up against a large tree and pulled out from her bag an old book, pages creased from over-reading. She also pulled out a small packet of biscuits. She opened them and began to read.

Jake being the quiet fellow he is sat at the back of the bus the hole ride. He stood up after everyone got off and grabbed his things then walked outside looking around for a open area where he could sit alone. He sat next to a tree about 15 feet away from anyone. And then he looked threw his bag and pulled out an MP3 player and listened to Def Leppard.

Bianca brushed past fellow students as they made their way off the bus. She stepped down the steps and paused as a light wind tousled her hair, enough to make it look perfect.
She took out her mobile to check the reception. There was none.
Bianca sighed. She had planned on calling her friends to brag about the amazing time she was having. Obviously, she wouldnt be able to now.
Bianca moved away from the bus, and glanced around to see the other students. She noticed they were spreading out to keep to themselves.
She noticed a gorgeous guy. She caught his eye, and smiled flirtatiously.

Jennifer looked around as she came off the bus, bag over her shoulder. She smiled, she was happy to be off of the bus for awhile. She sat by herself, but not far from everyone else.

She pulled a horror novel out of her bag and began to read. She laid down to be more cofortable, and before long had fallen asleep.

Bianca was hungry, so after catching the young mans eye, she pawed through her slouch bag, searching for the snack she remembered placing in their. She found it, and looked back up to see if she could maybe find the guy.
But Bianca couldnt see him anywhere. But then again, Bianca never looked far enough to find what she wanted.
She shrugged, knowing she would find him later on the bus.
She grabbed her i-Pod, plugged the earphones in her ears, flipped open a magazine and began to read, chewing on an apple.

Ilea ate a few of her biscuits and folded the end down, shoving the remainder of the packet back into her bag. Closing her book, she also put it in her bag. She glanced at her watched which was on her left wrist before looking back in the direction she'd came from.

'Plenty of time to do some exploring,' she thought to herself.

Standing up, she brushed the dirt from the back of her trousers and headed deeper in the forest, the leaves and twigs crunching underneath her boots.

Jake finished his sandwich after the song Red Water had went off then looking at his watch to see when the break would be over and we could continue the trip he looked to his left and saw someone heading off into the woods being a tad curious Jake put his MP3 player back into his bag and started walking towards the girl noticing the forest getting thicker as he went further in keeping a good distance from the girl

Ilea carried on heading deeper into the forest. The trees in the forest got larger and denser as she went. Ducking under a large tree branch, an odd twig snagged her arm, leaving a small trailing cut. Crimson blood bubbled onto her pale skin. Wiping the blood away, she carried on walking until she came to a large clearing with a small drop. A chilled wind whipped around her body making her instinctively rub the tops of her arms.

Pulling her grey jumper out of her back, she slipped it on over her goose pimpled skin and zipped it up. She felt drawn to the area, but had no explanation for this. She looked down at her watch and realised that just under an hour had passed since she'd first stepped foot off of the bus.

"Oh no," she mumbled under her breath, "The bus."

She hastily turned on her heels, and began to head back the way she came. She took a quick glance at the clearing but she didn't see the person hiding behind a nearby tree and crashed into him.

Jake crashes into a tree and hits the back of his head on a tree"ahhh what the.. oh crap" Jake said while rubbing the back of his head then gets up dusts his jeans and then helps the girl up "sorry about that didn't mean to...WAIT what time is it" looks in the direction towards the bus "O CRAP NO"

Ilea accepeted the help up from the floor.

"Sorry," she mumbled, sweeping her dark locks from her eyes. She momentarily forgot why she was running, the wind having been knocked out of her.

"Oh. It's almost three. The bus leaves in a few minutes. We better hurry."

She started walking at a first pace before breaking into a run.

"I don't think we'll make it," she said.

"Well the bus might still be there. If they know they've missed us they should wait for us."

She carried on running.

'Hopefully,' she said to herself.

The forest was thinning and in the far distance she could see the old stone road.

"Come on. Hurry up."
